My name is Mark Adam Kalman Jr. but please call me Adam.
I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator and feel I have always been one since early on in life. I grew up with many artistic influences and teachings, along with being an out of the box right-brained creator.
During my high school career I always took an art, or design class and ultimately received an honors cord for doing so. In my AP Design course I was entered into the local Robert Stackhouse art show. I received the “Best in Show” award. That was my first art show and competition I participated in, but it certainly was not my last.
I graduated from Valencia College with and Associates Degree in Graphic Design with Specialization in Print. Valencia is well known in the digital media and graphic design field due to teachers requirements for entering in at least 3 competitions. Most notable of the 3 was a competition for, Bodegus Terras Gauda, a wine company in Spain. My design was not chosen for the final design but I made it to the final round of a peer judging panel.
School has definitely given me a large portfolio of projects, some can be found on this website, and sharpened my design works along with technical execution
Today, my work consists of freelance projects for small businesses, personal illustrations and graphics. In my works I have created logo and stationary designs for various companies, and provided branding for a local Orlando band. I use Adobe programs and am fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My main interest and style of work is vector graphics and large format printing. A lot of the work is directly transferred from hand drawn comps to various Adobe programs.
I hope you enjoy browsing around my portfolio and various works of art. Feel free to click and scroll around. If you see something you like leave me a comment or click the contact tab. You can also find my work and the design process here at AK Design.
